IT IS FINISHED!

Our entertainment center project, that was started over a year ago
is FINALLY FINISHED!!! (mostly)

Paul started this huge project that took MANY days/hours, and got it all taped together (yes taped to make sure it all fit right), and then he got distracted/busy and it sat for several months. THEN, he rededicated himself and put it all together - YES!

And then he got burnt-out, as we didn't decide on trim fast enough, so it sat for several more months :-D . . .

THEN over a month ago the trim was decided on and ordered. So for the past few weeks, Paul has worked long hours to put the trim on, and create some beautiful arches. (And I make a pretty good wood-work apprentice ;-)

(The children have to christen every phase - notice the toys -
they always have to play in whatever 'NEW' part Paul has completed.)

Then we both spent the last two weeks in the garage sanding, staining, steel-wooling (is that a word?), polyurethane-ing, steel-wooling again, and polyurethane-ing again!

Yes that house suffered in the mean time . . .

But the kids had fun with
 Anastasia as the babysitter!

It was worth it, though, because LOOK AT IT NOW!!!!

Oh, I love it! It's 7' tall and 12' wide. It's sturdy, expertly crafted, and GORGEOUS! I'm so grateful for all of Paul's ingenuity and hard work. He still wants to put cabinet doors on the two outside units, and drawers and cabinet doors on the center console, but that will have to wait until after we get our garden planted and I get a desk/organization area.

For now, I am satisfied to say, it is beautiful and it is finished! (mostly ;-)

Hip hip hooray for Paul!

WOW!! Way to go Paul! that is awesome! and you too alexis! We are very impressed! what a great feeling to have it DONE!!
My dad and grandpa are both great woodworkers so I grew up having great building projects going on...does require so much patience, but is well worth it, they last forever, my kids now sleep on the bunkbeds my grandpa build for my sister and I when we were 3 and 2!! well worth the time and effort!
