Paul completed his final Triathlon of the 2010 season performing an Olympic Triathlon, which meant twice the distance of the other races he had done.
We traveled to Fontana, Wisconsin (no I didn't mis-spell that city name . . .) the night before, and woke up ding-dang early to head to the race that started at 6:30 a.m. Much to our surprise, we awoke to pouring rain . . . I was expecting enjoying the race with my four children, sitting on blankets while we cheered for Daddy. Rather, we cheered for Daddy shivering in the cold air and come-n-go showers. Gabriel THANKFULLY slepted in the stroller convered by blankets to keep the rain off him. The girls and I huddled with the rest of the spectators, and cheered for Paul when he passed us.
Paul did AWESOME! He claimed this as the best race yet. The 1-mile swim was 'easy' ;-) (okay challenging but a great swim-time); the 25-mile bike was a hilly course, but he managed to get a 20mph average pace; the 6.2-mile run had a nasty hill called "Killer Hill" but Paul's training running our local "Wilks Hill" (Allie you know from experience) helped him pass many runners while going up the hill.
Paul placed 9th in his age division with a total time of 2 hrs 28 min. Overall, out of 430 participants, Paul placed 29th! Ha ha!
Anastasia said, "Dad, you are a homerun!"
Sabrina said, "Dad, I am so happy for your race!"
Samantha said, "Daddy!"
We're all proud of Paul, and look forward to more fun next season!
Enjoy the VERY FEW pics, as it was raining most of the time :-D

I am impressed. What a wonderful family activity. Alexis you were a good sport to stay & watch - in the rain. I am sure it was a cold rain because you all have jackets on.
