In my delirious state I stumbled to the bathroom where Samantha had shut herself in. I found her on the floor crying, but she quickly stopped after my arrival. "Are you bleeding?" I asked, after a quick view of no blood on her face I said, "Good - let's go get some breakfast."
All the kids and I finally made it downstairs 15 minutes later. I lifted Samantha into her high-chair, and low and behold there was a cut on top of her head. "Well I guess you did hurt yourself!" I stated. After conferring with Dr. Mom Howard, I decided she needed to see a doctor.
It was indeed a deep cut, and little Samantha (FYI - who's gained 5 lbs in the last 6 mo), received 3 staples. Ugh! Here's the kicker, though - she didn't even make a peep! Not one whimper! She curled her toes down to express her discomfort, but that was it. What a tough little cookie!
SO, Samantha has three staples, and I happen to finish making her hat today, so she has a new hat to cover the wound! Joy!
