1st Time Camping in the South

We finally did it! We finally went camping as a whole family for the 1st time on Saturday, April 28th! And at least for Alexis & Sabrina, it was the 1st time camping in the South!

We went camping at Jordan Lake, outside of Apex, NC, so we had a beautiful view of the forest & lake, and the breeze off the lake made the temperature pleasant.

Thanks to Mom & Dad Howard at Christmas time, we all had sleeping bags to sleep in, and pads to sleep on. All four of us squished into our 2-man tent, with Ana & Brie stacked vertically in their toddler bags. This made for a fun wake-up call in the morning!

We had a fun camping experience with our friends, Cory, Mara, Cole, & little Emma Johnson.

Anastasia enjoyed learning how to roast marshmallows over the fire, and hike through the tree roots to get to the lake's edge.

Sabrina enjoyed crawling around and taste-testing the dirt. Except for the fall off the park bench that left Sabrina with 4 goose-eggs, she also enjoyed her camping experience!

Mighty Paul came through with a delicous "breakfast burrito meal" in the morning, so we all left happy. We had so much fun, we'll probably do it again soon (before it gets too hot . . .)
